Street sweeping will begin on 21 April 2025 and will continue until completion.
We ask that you remove vehicles from the road until your road has been completed. Additionally, as beautiful as they may be, please observe the street sweepers from a distance and give them plenty of space when driving through the neighborhoods.
Sweepers will start on JBER-R and make their way to JBER-E, making multiple passes to collect the excess gravel left over from our icy winter.
How does it work?
Water trucks first wet the roads, this helps reduce the amount of dust that gets kicked up. The street sweepers then make their way down the road picking up any debris. Picking up debris prevents it from entering the storm drains and polluting Alaska’s pristine ecosystem.
Pothole Patrol
In addition to cleaning the roads, some must be repaired. Potholes form when moisture seeps into cracks in the asphalt. Freezing temperatures cause the moisture to freeze (and expand).
If you identify a pothole in your neighborhood, please contact our maintenance team by phone or via rentcafe.
If you identify a pothole on a non-neighborhood road, please report to JBER via the JBER connect app or at the link below.
